Terms of Use

1. Operator, membership and accounts

These terms apply to the Android and iOS apps operated by Veritas Lux Mea (VLM). Use your own account through the methods offered on the sign-in screen. Account and reading information can be shared with the web service. Unauthorized account use, false information and sharing authentication or access credentials are prohibited.

Where a minor’s data processing or paid contract requires guardian consent, the relevant legal process is necessary. Contact support before proceeding if the required process is unavailable in the app. Merely displaying these terms does not constitute required consent.

2. Features, previews and purchases

Features include originals, translations, explanations, images and audio, libraries and reading records, vocabulary and quizzes, study plans, notes and reading practice, AI and SpoonNote sharing. Availability varies by version, device, country, work and entitlement. Non-subscribers can use offered previews and limited audio/image features.

Check the purchase screen for prices, scope and renewal conditions of subscriptions, books and points. Use Google Play or App Store controls for renewal, cancellation, restoration and refunds. Removing the app, signing out or deleting an account does not itself cancel recurring billing. Statutory cancellation and refund rights are not waived.

AI requests follow the displayed usage/point conditions. You remain responsible for permissions in submitted material. AI, translations and speech may contain errors; verify important information against original sources.

3. Service content and your contributions

Use service content for personal reading and learning within your entitlement. The Copyright Notice explains rights and unauthorized commercial reuse; public-domain use, lawful quotation, fair use and open-license permissions are not excluded.

You or the rightful owner retain rights in your contributions. Choosing a public or sharing feature permits storage, transmission and display needed to operate that feature, not transfer of ownership or blanket permission for separate commercial resale or promotion. Other users may see public posts, so check personal information and third-party rights before posting.

4. Prohibited conduct and moderation

Unauthorized commercial copying/distribution, bypassing encryption/authentication/access limits, disruptive scraping or attacks, exposing others’ personal information, impersonation, harassment and rights infringement are prohibited. Use available reporting/blocking tools or contact support.

We may request correction, restrict relevant content/features or suspend access proportionately. We normally explain the reason and response process; urgent security or clear infringement may require action first and notice afterward. You may request review. Maintenance, faults or rights issues can change availability; we provide practicable notice and handle existing paid contracts under applicable law and their terms.

5. Privacy and account deletion

The mobile Privacy Policy describes personal data handling. Request withdrawal/deletion through an available in-app function or support email. Confirm the scope because accounts are shared with the web. Cancel store subscriptions separately.

Deleting the authentication account does not necessarily delete every server post, child record or local file at once. Identify the posts, attachments or reading records you wish deleted; we verify ownership and process requests under applicable law, explaining any required retention.

6. Responsibility, Apple EULA and changes

These terms do not exclude our liability for fault or any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded. You may contact support, seek appropriate dispute resolution or go to court. Korean law applies as a baseline without excluding mandatory consumer protections applicable to you; jurisdiction follows applicable law.

The applicable Apple standard EULA and App Store conditions also apply to iOS. These service terms do not unilaterally replace or amend Apple’s agreement.

We give advance notice of changes, reasons and dates, normally at least 30 days for materially adverse changes. We obtain separate consent when required; silence or viewing a document is not treated as that consent.
